Action 1: Happy Place Community Email
Who, what, when, where, why, how?
As deliberations over the U.S. Budget Reconciliation and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill roll on, stories have leaked that Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema wants to cut $100 Billion from climate funding. These two pieces of legislation are both heavily loaded with climate policy and integral to pivoting America in a sustainable direction. Sinema’s demand to cut spending on climate provisions could force cuts to programs that would help communities adapt to climate change, help companies transition to a clean energy economy, and help protect the environment.
What’s good in the climate policy?
Reward electric utilities that switch from burning fossil fuels to wind, solar or nuclear power, and penalize companies that don’t.
Provide tax incentives to increase the use of wind and solar power and electric vehicles.
What are we doing about it?
We are emailing Senator Kyrsten Sinema DIRECTLY, reminding her that the natural beauties of Arizona are happy places worth saving: Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Havasu Falls, and more!
